It is the most important for mobile users to find an appropriate spectrum band from multiple bands at an appropriate time such that the mobile users’quality of services and effective throughput are satisfied. In the environment of multiple bands, we observe that the number of spectrum bands being sensed affects the selection of optimal sensing and transmission parameters. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of quality-of-service, different traffic types may correlate with the number of being sensed spectrum bands, the sensing order and the status of spectrum bands. Moreover, it is critical to simultaneously satisfy the quality-of-service requirements of heterogeneous traffic and effective throughput maximization. Based on the above reasons, we propose a sensing policy satisfies the quality-of-service requirements while maximizes the effective throughput.
