This project studies radio spectrum sensing policies in multiple bands from the perspective of quality-of-service and effective throughput, in which goals are effective throughput of different sensing policies for best effort traffic and quality-of-service of real-time traffic in sequential sensing policies. In the former, we propose different sensing policies and attempt to study how different sensing rules, packet time, and sensing time affect the effective throughput of best effort traffic. In the latter, we study sensing policies for real-time traffic types which differ from best-effort traffic in the requirements of quality of services.
