Cognitive radio-based capillary machine type communication networks provide more spectrum opportunities for massive radio access requirements, reduce radio interference, save power consumption of machines and reduce the number of frequent access to base stations. In this architecture, a cognitive gateway performs spectrum sensing and notifies machines of the sensing results of bands and the information of available frames. Machines use the information to transmit heterogeneous data to the gateway while the transmission satisfies the quality-of-service requirement of terminals. Under the constraints of energy consumption and throughput, it is critical that how a terminal obtains the information of bands quickly and how a terminal sends data as much as possible. In this project, we present two arrangements of sensing/header information transmissions, and study different parameters of multi-frames for different services to achieve better system performances.
